It Seems Impossible, But This Liquid Is Boiling And Freezing At The Same Time. WHOA.

In what is one of the coolest chemistry videos I've ever seen, a clear, nonpolar solvent known as cyclohexane is brought to its triple point.  It might sound boring at first, but this means that the temperature and pressure conditions inside the beaker are just right, enabling the solid, liquid, and gas states of the substance to co-exist in equilibrium. Why is this so completely epic? Because this means that the liquid defies everything you know about common sense by boiling and freezing at the same time. I couldn't take my eyes away!

I'm sure this is one of those things that you're not supposed to try at home, but man, do I want to!
Share this with your friends and blow their minds!
